Why and how did you get involved with TRUE Mentors?
I have always felt that it was important to give back to the community however possible. I had been a mentor with a different organization before I moved to Hoboken and felt that I received just as much as I put into that relationship. Having a great experience in the past, I was introduced to the organization through my sister, who is a mentor of four years.
Why would you recommend others to be involved?
Getting involved, whether it’s volunteering or mentoring, will be one of the most rewarding experiences a person can have. The time commitment is not burdensome and you will meet other great people who are in a similar position to you.
What are you most excited about at TRUE Mentors?
I am excited for the future – growing our programs and making an even bigger impact on the Hoboken community. In the short term, I’m looking forward to the Volunteers Night Out on April 7th at Grand Vin.
What has been your favorite experience thus far, serving on the TRUE Mentors board?
Although it has been less than 6 months, we have accomplished a lot in a short time. Hiring Katie Eades as Executive Director, volunteering at the Chili Cook-off and seeing all the kids in action at the 5 Year anniversary party were some of my highlights so far. I expect many more in the coming months.
Liam currently serves as the President of the Board at TRUE Mentors.
