We make a living by what we do, but we make a life by what we give. -Winston Churchill
Undaunted Courage by Stephen E. Ambrose
Why and how did you get involved with TRUE Mentors?
I first learned of TRUE Mentors through Hoboken Volunteers and Susanna Tully Milligan. Through the years Hoboken Volunteers has been a big supporter of TRUE Mentors and their mission. We partnered with TRUE Mentors twice in hosting Chili Cook-Off & Homebrewing Contest raising over twenty thousand dollars.
Why would you recommend others get involved?
TRUE Mentors is led by an incredible group of caring people who recognize the importance of putting down roots in their community in order to strengthen it. I’ve witnessed the positive influence the mentors have on the kids and its rewarding to be a part of an organization that can truly make a difference.
What are you most excited about at TRUE Mentors?
I’m excited to be a part of the continued growth of TRUE Mentors. They have come so far in a short amount of time. I have a deep appreciation and profound respect for those who started and continue to be a part of this wonderful organization. Anything I can do to help move TRUE Mentors forward – I’m all in.
What has been your favorite experience thus far, serving on the TRUE Mentors board?
I haven’t attended a Board meeting just yet but am excited to get started.
