All mentors are required to attend our 1:1 Mentoring Training. This training is designed to help our new mentors develop a deeper understanding of our mentoring programs, what it means to be a TRUE mentor and a chance to hear how our current mentors are making an impact on children in Hoboken. All 2nd – 5th grade students enrolled in our FREE enrichment club program are eligible for this trip. Students should bring their own lunch. A light snack will be provided. Contact Sierra Swigert (330-933-7747) with any questions.

Field Trip – 5th-8th Grade Pickle Ball @ Pop Up Park Pickle Ball Courts

Pickle Ball

Led by Hoboken’s top pickle ball players, Grant Sahag, John Millus, and our very own mentor, Mark Gennerelli, students will learn how to play Pickle Ball. Afterwards, everyone will walk up to Ben & Jerry’s for a sweet summer treat! This activity is open to all 5th-8th grade students enrolled in our FREE enrichment club program and all one-to-one matches.

Drop Off Location: 11th-12th street & Adams (Pickle Ball Courts

Pick Up Location: Ben & Jerry’s (405 Washington Street)

Community Service Event – Night Out Against Crime @ Church Square Park

Night Out Against Crime

Help volunteer at the TRUE Mentors booth at the Annual Night Out Against Crime. Students will volunteer for our face painting booth, host games for younger children, and help promote TRUE Mentors at our booth and recruit new families. This event takes place in Church Square Park. We will meet at the Boys & Girls Club. See scheduled below.

Event Schedule: 

Drop Off: 123 Jefferson Street at 5:00pm to get supplies and have a snack.

Pick Up: 123 Jefferson Street at 8pm.
