TRUE Mentors’ mission is to unearth the excellence of youth ages 7 through High School in Hoboken through relationships. We have three main programs that help us form relationships with youth clubs, mentoring, and internships. TM Business Development Projects are a fantastic way to contribute to the TM mission and build your resume.

Marketing & Social Media Manager

Position Overview

This position focuses on creating a clear and powerful message that represents the organization to the public by increasing and improving social media reach, website traffic and look, press and brand building, printed literature, and other story telling avenues within Hoboken and surrounding areas. The Project Managers will focus on different primary duties based on their interests and abilities.

Primary Duties

  • Work directly with graphic designer to create logos for campaigns, redesign paper materials, and create cover photos for events for about 4 hours per event
  • Manage email communications – weekly update, monthly news, etc. for about 2 hours per week
  • Work with the website development team to keep the website current and fresh and manage website flow and design (1 hour monthly meetings)

Secondary Duties

  • Design swag items (T-shirts, pens, etc.)
  • Brainstorm and Pursue new ideas for marketing such as video, bus stop ads, etc.
  • Coordinate with team and leaders to make sure story is consistent and clear
  • Stay up to date on marketing / social media best practices

Requirements

  • Should be at least 18 years of age and live in Hoboken or the surrounding area
  • Should be able to commit for a minimum of 4 months or completion of one project
  • Should be creative, artistic and passionate about sharing the organization’s story
  • Will need to know at least one of these websites: Mailchimp, WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and/or design software

Desired Outcomes

  • Map out the various marketing opportunities in Hoboken, including key contacts, cost analysis and projected ROI (e.g. Bus Stop Ads, Commercials at Movie Nights at Pier A, etc.)
  • Enter contacts into Salesforce for all marketing opportunities
  • Create a Marketing Strategy based on our projected CY budget

Estimated Time Commitment

  • 3-5 hours per month
 
 

Brand & Event Marketing Coordinator

Position Overview

Project Manager – Monthly Newsletter

Position Overview

The Project Manager for the TM monthly newsletter requires a minimum 6 month commitment. This position includes managing a small team of volunteers that contribute to the newsletter on a monthly basis as well as writing basic articles on upcoming events and celebrations.

Job Description

  • Oversee a team of volunteers and publish the TM monthly newsletter
  • Work with Marketing Coordinator on layout, branding, marketing, subject line, social media posting
  • Work with content writers to write blogs and edit featured articles
  • Work with a small team of editors and proof readers
  • Engage social media influencers to share monthly newsletter
  • Post all content to website blog and link in newsletter
  • Create newsletter in Mailchimp, add photos and new content and call to action each month
