Years Served
at TRUE Mentors: 4 YearsMy favorite book is The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. It is a great book that really inspired you to do what you want and reach for the stars.

When did you first get involved with TRUE Mentors and why? I got involved with True Mentors in 2012. James Sproule suggested I come to a class and volunteer. I loved it!

What program do you volunteer for and what was your experience like? I am currently a relationship manger. I have been in this role for around 3 years. It has been such an amazing experience and I work with some really great people who have such a passion to make TRUE Mentors the best is can possibly be.

What is your favorite part of being a relationship manager? My favorite part of being a relationship manager is seeing my matches grow and continue to progress. I have one match that has been together for over 3 years. They hang out all the time. I really get to see the impact the mentors make!

What is your favorite TRUE Mentors moment? My favorite TRUE Mentors moment was the field day last Fall. There was some confusion on the field assignment and we had to use a small area of the field. I love how everyone worked together to make it work. It was about the kids having a great time! We had a large number of kids participate and they really enjoyed the day!

How has being a part of the TRUE Mentors community changed you? Challenged you? Rewarded you?

Being apart of the TRUE Mentors community has rewarded me because I have seen so many kids become successful, confident, and ready to take on anything. TRUE Mentors truly helps kids to believe in their dreams and reach for them.
What do you wish other people knew about TRUE Mentors?
I wish other people knew that anything you do with the kids makes a huge impact on them. I have heard from Mentors before that they are not sure they are making an impact. Being in their life and taking time out of your day to be with them, listen, and participate in activities means more than you think.
Tell me about some of the people you’ve met while working for TRUE Mentors?
I have met some really neat people. Everyone in TRUE Mentors comes from all walks of life. I have met teachers, social workers, business managers, financial analyst. Everyone just comes together to work with children and make a difference. It is really neat to see so many people have such a passion for kids and the TRUE Mentors organization.
What TM community events/fundraisers have you attended? Why would you encourage other TM volunteers to get involved in the TM community?
I have attended many different events/fundraisers including the masked gala hosted by Keller Williams, happy hour at Wicked Wolf and Biergarten.  I have also helped host several events for Mentors. I would encourage volunteers to go to events because it is a great way to meet other volunteers. Also, you will learn more about the program and find an area you feel will benefit from your services! We are always looking for relationship managers!
